Shirley is an internationally experienced leader with a diverse set of credentials across Indigenous education, law, financial services, funds management, journalism and the NFP sector. She is a passionate advocate for Indigenous empowerment and diversity and inclusion, and has invested throughout her career to address these issues. This work was most recently recognised when she was selected as one of the 2019 AFR 100 Women of Influence.
Shirley advises organisations on how to build collaborative ecosystems to connect shareholder value with a deeper connection to impact and purpose. She believes fiercely in Reconciliation as the best future for Australia, and in diversity as a tool for innovation.
Shirley’s current portfolio includes working with the University of Sydney Gadigal Centre to embed their new strategy One Sydney, Many People across the university. She is also the Chair of the Advisory Board of Octadoc, a cloud-based health startup and is mentoring and coaching a number of CEOs and senior executives on strategy and professional development. Shirley is the host of the Women’s Agenda podcast series The Leadership Lessons and a keynote speaker and presenter for Saxtons Speakers.
Shirley’s most recent executive appointment was as the inaugural CEO of Adam Goodes and Michael O’Loughlin’s GO Foundation, an Indigenous NFP providing holistic education pathways and financial support to Indigenous students across Australia.
